The Diploma in Hospitality & Tourism Management (with Basic Culinary Arts) offers students a strong foundation in the hospitality and tourism sector while providing essential culinary skills. This program allows graduates to progress into the first year of selected university degree programs or pursue further diploma studies. It is also a recognized standalone qualification for those seeking direct employment in the industry at team member level.


Course Objectives

Industrial Attachment (6-Month Internship)

The program includes a 6-month industrial attachment within the hospitality or tourism industry. Internship opportunities range from restaurants and boutique hotels to travel agencies and internationally recognized hotel chains.

During this internship, students will:

  • Apply academic knowledge in real-world professional settings.
  • Gain hands-on industry experience and develop workplace skills.
  • Complete work-based assessments, which form part of the final evaluation.

Note: A training work permit is required to undertake the internship. Approval is subject to the Ministry of Manpower. If a permit is not secured, students must complete additional academic assignments as an alternative.
